WELCOME TO CHRIST CHURCH

Christ Church, Trivandrum, which was consecrated in 1859, is the oldest church in the city. Set in sylvan surroundings, it is centrally located in the Palayam area, between the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium and the University Stadium, and with the Kerala Legislative Complex on one side and the arterial Mahatma Gandhi Road on the other.

The Church itself is an elegant building, built in the Gothic style, with beautiful stained glass windows portraying The Good Shepherd. The windows on the walls depict the twelve disciples (and their symbols) and others associated with the life of Jesus.

The wait for Jesus is the permanent solution put forward to us by the Lord Almighty at a time when the life of those who do not have anything to wait for and nobody to wait for becomes a battered story. Waiting for Jesus means the wait for the intervention of Jesus. In the life journey of Israelites there were several crisis. At all those testing times, the messages they got from Prophets were always  this – ‘Wait, God will interfere at the right time’. God’s actions are not in tune with the desires of man. When the all-knowing God acts, the criticisms heaved by temporary passing men is out of their folly. What we need is renewed power. That happens only when we wait for the coming of our Lord
